Recycling and Solid Waste Disposal
There is no charge for recycling. Currently we have self service drop off only. Please separate items into one of the following categories and drop into the appropriate bin.

Plastics
Cardboard
Paper and Junk Mail

After dropping off your recyclables you can dispose of your non-recyclable materials too. When you enter the solid waste disposal area our automated scales weigh your vehicle. After you put your trash in our dumpsters you are weighed again on the way out. You can pay with credit card or debit card. We also offer reusable County Cards which may be purchased with cash. There is a fee of 3.5 cents per pound so, for example, 20 pounds of trash costs only 70 cents.
Tires, Brush, and Other Materials
These services are available only to residents of Shelby County. Contractors disposing of brush must fill out a Resident Verification Form. Please select the following link to download or print. Resident Verification Form
